Thanks, I'm heavily influenced by turn-of-the-last-century children's book illustrators (Edmund Dulac, Arthur Rackham, etc.). They often used brown inks as a base for their illustrations and this seemed like it needed that technique.
I love the expressions on these guys. Especially Jack and the monkey. Jack looks really surprised and the monkey is like "Dubbayuu tee eff, Jack!". I wish i could draw things this comical. Is it just me or does Davey Jones look alot like Cthulu?
We rode PotC a week before they shut it down for revamp. There was no one in the boat in front of us, no one in the boat behind us and no one but us in our boat... we had the ride all to ourselves, the perfect way to bid the old good-bye. I'm looking forward to seeing the new version (don't tell me a thing about it though, since I'll pirate curse you double quick ifin' you do! Arrr!)
I am GAPING in jealousy! But then again, it's not like I've never ridden the ride too. That seems like the absolute perfect way to bid farewell to the old ride. But the new one is good, that's all I'll say. I'm a hard core old Disney fan and I was quite pleased with the slight renovations.
And I don't need any curses place upon me 'ead! Waking at 5 AM to go on the ride and waiting 3 hours Adventure/Frontierland to open was a curse enough X_x
